WELCOME TO THE DRIVER’S SIDE NEWS

A New Voice Built From the Fuel Island Up

Before there was a show, before there were interviews, memes, debates, and half a million followers, it started with a phone at the fuel island. Raw, unfiltered videos calling out drivers who refused to respect the fuel island, the job, and each other. That is where The Driver’s Side was born, standing at the pump and demanding the respect and professionalism the industry had begun to lose.

From those fuel island confrontations came 10 years of conversations,
10 years of calling out the nonsense,
10 years of holding drivers and the industry accountable,
10 years of telling the truth the way drivers actually live it.

Those conversations were backed by more than two decades in the seat, running the kinds of lanes that prove your stripes in this industry. Oversized loads, flatbed, reefer, box truck, dry van, and roll-off. Different freight, different challenges, different realities. That range of experience became the backbone of The Driver’s Side — the ability to speak to drivers because the life was lived, not imagined.

Along the way came three years of podcasting with Shela, adding interviews, coverage, and conversations to the platform as the show continued to grow across the country.

And now that 10-year legacy arrives at its next evolution. Everything built from the fuel island, the roads, the conversations, and the community now pushes forward into something new. This is The Driver’s Side News, delivering trucking coverage at a level this industry has never seen.

For too long trucking news has been filtered, polished, and repackaged by people who have never held a wheel, never waited for a dock door, and never fought for parking at 2 a.m. We are changing that.

What This New Platform Stands For

  • Real news without the suits sanitizing it
  • A driver-first perspective on every issue
  • Coverage on autonomy, safety, parking, shutdowns, rates, insurance, mega carriers, and the culture shift slamming the industry
  • Editorial takes written in the language drivers speak, not boardrooms
  • Stories that honor the old school, challenge the new school, and protect the future of the driver’s seat

This is not just a website launch. It is the next step in a movement built on honesty, accountability, and the belief that drivers deserve better. A movement created on the fuel island and strengthened through years of real conversation with the people who live this industry every day.

So from both of us, Wayne and Shela, thank you for standing with us through ten years of The Driver’s Side. Now we begin the next chapter.

Welcome to The Driver’s Side News, delivering the truth from The Driver’s Side.
